Zept is a thirty-something college-educated chick who resides in California. Zept moved 2400 miles away from her hometown within 2 years of graduating college.

Religion
Zept is athiest, but was raised Christian Fundamentalist by her maternal Southern Baptist Appalachian family. In college, she was Wiccan, but found most Wiccans she knew were just as fluffy-bunny-rose-coloured-spectacle-wearing as the New Age Christians are.

Identity
Zept is what we call around these parts “a crusty goth”, because she’s been there, done that, literally got the tee shirt in her 12 years of identifying with the gothic subculture in the U.S..
Her home looks like Halloween every day, she wears all black, she listens to music not found on mainstream radio, and she seeks out world news online from sources outside the U.S. to attempt to get the real story that our government isn’t telling us.

Health Issues
Zept suffers from Endometriosis and Depression, and she is legally blind without corrective eyewear.

Accomplishments
As noted by Zept in the first person.

  • When I was 14 years old, I went door-to-door petitioning the neighborhood to sign up for the city to post “No Parking” signs at the angled corner of our busy street to alleviate the congestion. I sent the petition to the traffic department of the police station, and I succeeded - the signs were posted.
  • I graduated high school despite a rough go with poverty and abuse.
  • I graduated college despite having to work full time to help my ma pay her credit card debt, and despite a near-death auto accident a year before graduation.
  • I stuck it out in a state 2400 miles from where I grew up, even after my boyfriend and I split up. Instead of declaring myself finished, I stayed and got through it, and I’m very proud of myself as a result.
  • In 2002, I stubbornly yet proudly finished a 66-mile bicycle ride - my first ever - despite having to tend to an open wound from a sebaceous cyst under my breast AND developing massive cramps because I got my period during the ride.
